Coherence Quantum raised €2.78 million in seed financing led by Lifeline Ventures, with technology entrepreneur Mårten Mickos also participating. The Finnish startup originated from Aalto University’s Quantum Computing and Devices research group. It develops cryogenic signalling and control technology intended to help quantum-computer builders scale their systems. Adding qubits increases wiring, signal-conditioning and cooling requirements, while processors must remain protected from thermal disturbances. The company aims to improve signal conditioning and create more efficient connections between conventional controls and quantum processing units. Chief executive and co-founder Aashish Sah described a progression from signal conditioning toward higher-density interfaces and more integrated cryogenic control. The technology builds on more than two years of development and testing, including several prototype generations tested in dilution refrigerators with qubit systems. Financing will establish a laboratory in Espoo, support initial product prototypes and manufacturing processes, and expand research and staffing. Longer term, the business seeks to contribute to a more standardised architecture alongside complementary quantum technologies.
