HyLight raised €13 million from Rubio Impact Ventures, DRW and Teampact Ventures, alongside existing investors Y Combinator and Ring Capital. Founded in 2022 and based at Air Base 217 in Brétigny-sur-Orge, the French company designs, builds and operates hydrogen-powered airships for inspecting critical infrastructure. Customers named in the announcement include Enedis, NaTran, Téréga, SNCF Réseau and VINCI. Its aircraft carry sensors such as LiDAR, cameras and methane detectors to inspect power lines, pipelines and rail infrastructure. The company reported completing a 350-kilometre inspection mission and inspecting nearly 3,000 kilometres during September. These figures were attributed to chief executive Martin Bocken. HyLight described a team of approximately 14 people and authorisations for flights beyond visual line of sight. The funding supports industrialisation, more in-house manufacturing, a planned fleet of 15 aircraft and an AI-based infrastructure-data platform. Its commercial model combines aerial data collection with analysis, offering infrastructure operators an alternative to some helicopter-based inspections. The announcement did not identify a named series stage.
