NOVUS closed a double-digit-million funding round led by 468 Capital, the venture firm based in Berlin and San Francisco. The announcement did not disclose a precise amount. Founded in 2019 and based in Braunschweig, NOVUS develops lightweight electric two-wheelers positioned between bicycles, scooters and motorcycles. Its NOVUS One combines simplified electric operation with motorcycle-like performance and has no conventional clutch or gears. The company began delivering its first vehicle to European customers in spring 2026. Co-founders René Renger and Hannes A. H. Krieger lead the business as chief executive and chief strategy officer. Renger previously worked as a Volkswagen designer on vehicles including the Golf 8 and ID. Buzz. The new financing supports production scaling, expansion toward California and development of a more affordable second model. Backing also includes a network of executives from automotive, technology and consumer industries. The report describes completed financing, but neither a named round stage nor a specific valuation should be inferred from its eight-figure description.
