Scarlet announced a $50 million Series B led by Headline. New investor Notion Capital joined existing backers Atomico, Creandum, Kindred Capital and Entrepreneurs First. Headline partner Nancy Xiao Mclaughlin joined the board. The London business is a government-designated certification body focused on AI and software medical devices. It addresses the gap between rapid software development and lengthy regulatory assessment processes. The announcement described conventional assessments taking 12–18 months and further delays for minor updates, contrasting that timing with the speed at which diagnostic AI models can be developed. Scarlet’s role is certification rather than the manufacture of medical devices or the development of clinical AI models itself. Financing will support international expansion into the United States and Asia-Pacific. The report places the company within the group of organisations designated under European medical-device rules and presents its specialised approach as a way to improve certification capacity for software-based products. The disclosed investment is a completed Series B; the announcement did not supply a company valuation.
